If you are considering NATURAL Hair there are two ways that you could achieve that goal.
The act of growing the chemical out of your hair in hopes of having healthy natural tresses.
The Big Chop
A haircut that removes all the chemically treated and previously damaged hair at once.
You have been here a couple of times before. The very first time you were pregnant. Your body rebounded and so did your hair. The second time life took a couple of crazy loops filled with deadlines and rationalizations about deadlines. But, you sashayed through and your hair was once again beautiful. Today, you find yourself here again and unwilling to try again; so you decide to cut off ‘all’ your hair and go natural.
Not to discourage you, I would like to pose 3 questions to you. First, what is ‘All’? Typically ‘All’ is everything that is chemically treated and previously damaged. Please be aware that you may only have up to ½ inch of hair left after the hair cut.
Second, have you ever worn short hair? Short hair can be one of the most fabulous styles you wear or one of the worst. Get to know yourself and embrace all that makes you. Failure to do this may cause you extreme stress, money and time after you’ve cut your hair.
Third, have you ever worn natural/natural like styles? Understand that natural styles have the tendency to shrink your length, expose your features, and make you look younger. Experiment with styles that look natural on your chemically treated hair before you go naturally permanently.
I love all hair. I want to make sure that when you are deciding to go natural that you weigh your decision thoroughly. Many of my clients thought that they wanted to go natural until they actually did. Although their hair is fabulous their journey wasn’t as smooth as it could have been.
PI am just a girl who loves her job (owning and styling at HUC!) and is pretty good at explaining hair to other people.
