Whenever the seasons change I feel motivated to switch it up. Lashes are an easy and inexpensive way to add some interest to your look. There is absolutely no need to save lashes for special occasions. Make every day a good day to lash out.
Like everything else, you can spend tons of money on lashes. But, there really isn't a reason that adding lashes to your look should bankrupt you. Looking for a cost effective brand? I personally like Ardell. You can find them practically everywhere and the fibers don't annoy my eyes. They are light weight, easy to install, and last a while (2-3 wears).
Once autumn's ? cool air steals the morning I find myself wrapped in a cozy scarf and minimal makeup ? . What I rely on are my falsies to brighten up my face. They jazz up my hobo look and my get up go morning appreciates it.
If you are looking for something to do to change your look this fall try false lashes. Pick a brand you like and experiment. You never know falsies might become one of your favorite fall fashion items too. Remember to care for your lashes both natural and false to ensure that your lashes stay healthy. You're not going to be that cute if your eyelashes are all bald and scratchy looking from lack of maintenance. Don't say I didn't warn you!
My next adventure, magnetic lashes ???
In just a few days spring will have sprung. I will be wearing flirty maxi dresses and cute sandles to compliment my retro colored hair and gel set nails. But, first things first. I have neglected my feet and skin something awful this winter so I must get started on a beauty regimen to help make them showstopper ready. I'm always looking for the cheaper route when it comes to beauty and I found some neat stuff in my cabinet that I thought I'd share with you. Aztec Clay Mask, Olive Oil, and a Lavendar Sugar scrub made special by my beautiful niece this past Christmas for my face. Organic peppermint oil, listerine, and my very own K's Shea Butter Soufflé for my feet. Let's see if I can pull it together in just a few weeks.

Luckily downloaded music doesn't scratch because my Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston holdiay albums would both need to be replaced already. I have eaten more food than I need to consume and we are not going to even discuss my mail-order packages that are arriving daily. I think I'm ready to start the celebrations with my loved ones, now. I don't really do fancy clothes and all that jazz but like you I take my fair share of selfies. I found a few trends that might spruce them up a little and maybe eliminate the need to take a hundred thousand of them. I thought I'd share some of those tips with you to help you create your best holiday selfie.
Fill your time lines with big loose waves, 60's inspired curl patterns and metallic accessories this christmas. These styles are easy maintenance and pair well with your formal holiday looks. There aren't rules to style. You just pick what makes you feel great and wear it confidently. Texture is a great holiday trend. You can have a litte or a lot but have fun with it. Makeup is also very non traditional this season. Play up your eyes with colored liner or add jewels to your lashes. Remeber that one major color boost is pleanty. Clown makeup is never cute. Accessories are not just for your hair either. Nail embellishments are bigger and bolder than ever before. Be daring and make sure to angle that camera as to not miss any details. You've worked hard on your look. Show it off in those selfies. You know you going for the most likes anyway. Give the audience something special. Merry Christmas and a great selfie new year!
The mornings can be a bit rushed at my house with 5:30am breakfast, last minute backpack checks and morning drop-offs. The last thing I have time for is beauty. If you're like me, you are drinking your coffee from a travel cup and eating your portion of breakfast from a napkin in the car. Did I mention I'm usually in my house clothes? You know the ones with bleach stains that use to be my cute stuff. Nothing that I want other normal people to see. If I'm lucky I can just roll through the drop off lane and bypass all the well dressed moms. Maybe you understand where I am coming from. I've spent a couple of years now trying to find the right style options for rushed mornings and last minute face to face meetings with well adjusted adults. I figured out that what I really need is an easy and cute hairstyle that looks like it took forever but realistically could happen in the car. Here are the 4 styles that have saved me from extreme embarrassment and low self esteem.
3.The Modern Wave
This style is great if you're natural or transitioning. It's really all about the curls. If your a natural girl, you need to pick the proper curl definer that will enhance your curls. If you're transitioning, it's all in the set. Those of you with more than 50 percent relaxer should always go for a roller to properly define your curl pattern. But, if you're almost grown out of your relaxer you can do more twist outs. Just make sure that you pay close attention to those ends. This style last up to 4 weeks. Now, be realistic! You will have tons of maintenance with this one if your transitioning. Seek help from a stylist for best results.
I think we can all agree that this has been a rough summer. Social and racial injustice is out of control. Most days I just want to scream, fight, or something. But I remember that I have to be a grown up and I can't forget to trust God to restore order to this messed up world we must live in. So instead of acting out I stuff my rage in my work. In doing so, I came across some images that inspired me because they were both honest and beautiful. Afrocentric sure does photograph well. I have chosen to find the beauty in everything. It's not always easy but it helps keep the mind free of worry. May this slideshow of hair and ethnicity bring you joy as well.
These pictures were taken by multiple photographers, I simply admired the art in them.
Does your hair need protection from the sun? Absolutely, it does. Exposure to the sun is exposure to the sun; it doesn't only affect the skin. It dehydrates. It scorches. It is the reason your hair is dull and lifeless at the end of the summer. The reality is the summer brings last minute vacations, outdoor adventures and days when your hair takes a back seat to most things. In an effort to help you keep your tresses as healthy as possible, I put together a few tips to help you keep your hair protected this season.
The hat option
4 Ways To Identify The Perfect Summer Hat
Get The Right BRIM size A Brim is the edge around the hat. The brim should be 4" around to fully protect your neck, ears, and head from ascending and descending sunrays.
Go for hats made of UPF 50+ material This material keeps you safe from UVA and UVB sunrays. Look for natural options like straw, raffia, cotton, and hemp. Or, synthetics like nylon or polyester.
Look to protect your face The shape of the brim is just as important as the size. Find a brim that curves down and sits close to the face because it will provide better protection from the sun.
Repel sunlight Darker colored hats will absorb the heat from the sunlight making it unbearable to continue wearing the hat. Pick a white, tan, or pastel colored hat to help keep your head cool and your hair, face, ears, and neck protected from the sun.
Styles of Texture
I can count on one hand the amount of times that I have styled my hair since May 19; the last day of the school year. We have been swimming, fishing, and lounging none of which require me to look fancy. Now, you on the other hand may have clockable work hours in front of boring adults who expect you to look presentable all the time. My deepest apologies. Don't let them steal your summer from you. Take a cue from these beautiful texture styles and move through your day with confidence and little to no hassle. All that you need is a great leave in conditioner, 1 braid or twist technique, and satin scarf. My fellow Arizonians can step outdoors for few moments to air dry and the rest of ladies can dry while you sleep. Wake up a few minutes later and finger comb your tresses right on out the door.

Taming the Curly Beast
I so remember when my niece discovered her natural hair. My brother's girlfriend was trying to be helpful and did her hair for him. Let's just say she wasn't ready! My baby's hair was a tangled mess of oil and little black rubber bands. Her little face was so sad. All she could say was, " Auntie, please don't ever let her touch me again!" I re-did her hair and she lived through it. With all her hair too. I recently realized that a lot of your little ladies are having very similar experiences as my niece and you guys are unaware of it.
My brother's girlfriend thought she did a great job. Let's call her Ann. To Ann's defense, she did as best as she could. Unaware of the fact that my niece's spongy hair is a beast of another kind. It's awesome when it's wet. It has pretty curl patterns and looks real shinny. But, after that drying time passes; all the natural kink bust out and kills a style. Let's collectively say, HOT MESS!!!!!!!!!!! By the time I saw it there was no taming it. All you natural beauties know what I'm talking about. No product or accessory will help it out, either. You have 1 or 2 options. Start again from scratch or put on a hat and try again tomorrow.
I have put together a list of products, tools and styles that mom's can use on that naturally curly, semi-straight in the back, edges too dry and not growing, could us a trim, hair.
PI am just a girl who loves her job (owning and styling at HUC!) and is pretty good at explaining hair to other people.
