You have tried every product and stylist suggestion in the book and still your hair is just as limp and lifeless as it was before you spent all your money and time on it. What are your options now? That would be the infamous HAIRCUT.
This is the most challenging and rewarding aspect of my job. After tears and negative comments about undesirable facial features, ears poking out and foreheads; I get the opportunity to reintroduce my clients to them selves.
If you yourself are in need of a haircut due to hair damage you may face a few issues that are unavoidable. First, you may have to cut your hair shorter than you expected. Don’t worry about this stage. Hair never stops growing if your scalp is healthy and once all the damage is off you can grow your hair as long as you desire. If you are cutting your hair for a new start or to revamp your overall look be sure to use visual aides and be specific about your hair goals and habits. If you fail to relay your needs to your stylist you yourself may NEED a haircut to fix the haircut you received.
Keep in mind that short hair styles require more in-salon services and can be a bit pricey. Evaluate not just your hair needs (gym, swimming, limited time, hair-line), but your budget as well. If you fail to pay close attention to these factors you may get a hairstyle that fails to meet your overall lifestyle needs.
When getting a haircut it’s important to remember that no one cut is the same. You can get a cut similar to one you have seen but your hair and hair-line are uniquely yours. Allow your hair care professional to point you in the right direction for your face shape, hair-line, and overall style personality. Once you get your cut and love it; maintain it. Be courageous in your styles so that you don’t get bored by wearing the same look day after day. For cut options join the Hair Under Construction Group on Facebook. Also, like our Hair Under Construction Page. There you may see the perfect cut for yourself.
PI am just a girl who loves her job (owning and styling at HUC!) and is pretty good at explaining hair to other people.
